Tau Epsilon Phi
106 Years of Friendship, Chivalry, and Service
Brothers of Tau Epsilon Phi wishing to run for an office on the Grand Council, The Grand Council serves as the Board of Directors for Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity, Inc. Currently the Fraternity is run as an all volunteer organization. Many of the executive positions on the Grand Council currently do the physical day to day operations of the fraternity. If you wish to be nominated for one of these positions please be prepared to "work daily" on behalf of our fraternity.
The Grand Council will be elected at the Grand Chapter meeting on July 23, 2016 and will serve for approximately 2 years. Nominations maybe made from the convention floor but we anticipate that you may still be required to fill out some information and go through a process at that time . So that our Fraternity can have the best brothers skill sets in the most ideal positions, we highly encourage you to apply by the deadline and go through the Nominations committee. The deadline is by Friday, July 8, 2016 to be considered by the nominations committee and to get your information published in the convention program.
Individuals not able to attend the Grand Chapter sessions will be required to apply by the deadline. Officers of the Grand Council should expect to put in a minimum average of 10 hours per week in service to the Fraternity while in office. All Members of the Grand Council must attend several meetings throughout the year in various locations as well as numerous teleconference meetings. Currently it is the financial responsibility of each member to cover their own travel, lodging and expenses for each meeting. Depending on your location and location of the meetings, your personal costs can range from $100 - $1000 per meeting.
The new Grand Council will have a meet and greet planning session during the afternoon on Sunday, July 24, 2016; if running for the Grand Council, please plan your travel arrangements accordingly and plan on leaving after 7pm on Sunday evening. Article III, Section 2 of the TEΦ Constitution has further information and qualifications on serving as either an undergraduate or alumnus member of the board. The TEΦ Constitution can also be found on the TEΦ Governance page. Note that undergraduate and alumni must be members in good standing to be eligible for office. Feel free to contact any current or past members of the Grand Council if you have questions about serving.
Thank you, Jeff Zadoff, Tau Delta 527
International Vice Council Chairman
